Announcing my new newsletter

Published on February 3, 2026

Summary

This post announces my new newsletter and lists the topics in the newsletter. I also speak about illustrations for the newsletter and give a subscription method.

I’ve never had a newsletter. And I’ve been writing and blogging for a long time! It was high time to fix that. It is fixed! I now have a newsletter. And I hope you’ll subscribe!

Line and wash sketch. A parent with a kid in a stroller and a wheelchair user are in front of an elevator. There are several signs on the elevator. Closed. Exercise week. Use the stairs. There is an arrow pointing towards the stairs. A handwritten note says: Who will you choose to exclude to benefit the majority? Signed and dated January 29, 2026.

Illustrations

I’m hoping to have one illustration per newsletter. Not always an editorial image about a specific topic. Might be a bird sketch, or an urban sketch. But I’m planning to stay on point with most of the sketches. Like the one on this page. I used it to illustrate my sengment “who are you choosing to exclude?”.

It is an ink and watercolor sketch of two people who can’t use stairs, in front of an elevator closed for “exercise week”

In this edition:

  • Who are you choosing to exclude?
  • From the podcast: Sticky elements
  • alt tag? Or alt attribute?
  • In case you missed it: Digital accessibility and the curb cut effect
  • Captions, or automated craptions?
  • Wrapping up
